Peak District  March 2020
90 miles

Bright and early (and chilly) in Glossop, then across Snake Pass to Sheffield. In retrospect, last part of the pass into city is less interesting so consider turning off at A6013 to Hathersage next time.  Through the city and then out to Bakewell through the spring sunshine, warming up at last, for coffee and sausage roll.

Refreshed, cut across the Peak countryside to the the A515 at Newhaven and follow down to Ashbourne, then out west again to pick up the B5053 at Bottomhouse. This is a great road up towards Buxton but swing left just before the A515 and follow to avoid the town centre and pick up the Cat and Fiddle road over to Macclesfield.

For variety on the Hathersage version, ride up the Hope valley towards Castleton and turn right at Hope to Edale. Great road with little traffic, and then a superb climb up from Edale to the top of Mam Tor. Then cut south on A6 to Buxton and ride the bottom loop in reverse, or join the C&F road.
